Transportation Minister Mourns Gombe Victims Killed In LPG Truck Mishap

The Minister of Transportation, Sen. Said Alkali, has expressed deep condolences
to the families and people of Gombe State over the Liquefied Petroleum Gas
(LPG) truck mishap that killed five persons.
The incident happened at Lawanti village along Bauchi- Gombe highway on
Monday.
In a statement signed on Tuesday in Abuja by the minister’s media aide, Mr Alkali
Jibril, the minister described the incident as a huge loss to the bereaved families
and people of state.
According to him, the incident is a huge loss not only to the bereaved families but
to the state as a whole given the circumstances that led to their death.
The minister expressed deep condolences to the people of Lawanti district of Akko
local government area, Gombe State, particularly to the families of five who lost
their lives in a tragedy that involved a liquefied petroleum gas which rammed into
them at Lawanti village along Bauchi – Gombe highway on Monday, Jan.12, 2026.
“I pray for the repose of the departed souls and ask God almighty to grant their
families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. I equally pray for the speedy
recovery of those who sustained injuries in the accident,” he said.
